And It’s Off

It’s official – we have mailed out certified, return receipt requested, our money, our homestudy update and our Form I290-B to USCIS for the change in age range of the child we requested to be approved. Here’s hoping they stick to their 30 day processing time. The last go around I had to get our Congressman involved to find out where our I171-H had disappeared to. I’d like to ask for some prayers that the I290-B will be approved and sent back to us in a timely manner!!

We are also getting ready (tomorrow) I think to send off some additional documents for apostilling. Unfortunately there is no cap here for the fees and it is $10.00 a document. We have spent a small fortune in apostilling and we should own stock in Fed Ex at this point!! We have tons of other forms getting ready to expire so we are in contact with our coordinator about which ones we should worry about now.

I wish we had news of a referral, but we know that will come in time.

Sounds like things are moving along for you. What age range are you changing to? Here's hoping that you get your referral soon!

I know it felt good to get that in the mail. I hope that USCIS turns it around very quickly for you. We'll keep you in our prayers.

Sorry to hear that you have to spend more on apostilling. It's strange that each state has different rules and fees for that. I hope you get a referral very quickly, before more documents have to be redone.

It's very cold in Izhevsk right now!

Bummer that you don't have a cap - we don't either...ever feel like you may have to take out a loan just for the apostilling? We did! Can't wait to hear more..

I hope USCIS gets their job done in a timely manner this time. I can relate about apostilling and Fed Ex. We're getting close to that stage again also. It seems like neverending paperwork!

I guess I'm fortunate to live in a state with a cap - all states should do this.
I'll send good thoughts your way (and to USCIS) that your form comes back quickly!

You are in my prayers - I've been thinking a lot about you and Troy! I can't wait for your blessings to come through for you two.

We will keep you in our prayers for a quick referral and a quick turn around in your paperwork from USCIS. I am sure you are not looking forward to updating your Dossier; however, this round you know it is for court as you will hopefully be traveling later this month or early February. I cannot wait to hear good news soon!

I hope you get the CIS form back quickly. We'll pray for that! Some states are so expensive for apostilling! TN does not have a cap either, but it is only $2 for certification and $2 for apostilling. Wow! I hope you do not have to redo too many things! Good luck!

You guys are getting closer and closer! I can't wait until I can read about a referral for you two.

One tip, DO NOT use DHL to mail anything!! Ha Ha!

Doesn't it feel good to be doing *something* other than waiting? We'll be praying that things move really quickly for you guys now!

All this tedious paperwork is drainng my brain cells. I was at the State's office today getting ten documents apostilled. Thank goodness that TN only charges $2 per document.

I embarrassed myself by asking "What is my total?" The lady looked at me and said in her best super sweet First Grade Teacher voice: "You have ten documents times $2 each, that makes $20."

2 X 10, Duh! It's scary to think that I am responsible for homeschooling 4 boys :0) We better get a referral soon before I lose my mind completely and they have to start teaching me!

Hope everything comes back soon. At least you don't have to pay $20 like we are stuck doing here in California. :)

Yeah! You're so close now! I'll send some positive vibes that the USCIS process your paperwork quickly.
I can't wait to follow your journey to this new region.
