What Do We Do On Snow Days?

We make bookmarks!! I found this fun project a long time ago and was waiting for the perfect time to make these.

We simply painted popsicle sticks, then cut out circles for faces, added ears, eyes, or whatever worked for that particular animal we were making and Ta Da...Animal Bookmarks. I think they turned out great!!

Then we braved the store and started shoveling!! Since our weather people always seem off, we were shoveling about 6 inches of snow, not the 3 to 5 they keep insisting that we are going to get even though the storm has not slowed down yet!
Daniel thinks that body sledding is fun...apparently!! I had a great picture but you can see some identifying info so I don't want to post it. It looks like we may have another day together tomorrow too. I doubt we'll get plowed tonight!

Looking Ahead to a Big Year!

As we start out 2011, I think of all the exciting changes and fun things to come this year:

I'm going to have a new nephew in just a couple of months! His birthday will probably be days from mine, my sister's, my brother-in-law and my mother's. Our combined party keeps getting bigger and bigger! What is it about late February and early March?!?! Wait, don't answer that!!

Daniel is going to turn 5 AND start Kindergarten this fall! I know, I can't believe it either!

We're going to finish our last post placement report in April for Daniel's adoption. I can't wait for that day for many reasons!! For me it means an end to the journey and a beginning of a new journey without the paperwork!!

Troy and I are planning our family vacation! We're sticking within driving distance of our home again this year, but going somewhere we've never been! We're planning lots of fishing, swimming and a great time!

I'm co-hosting an Information Meeting for our adoption agency in our area which I'm really looking forward to!

I have to get my driver's license renewed this year and I'm terrified because I have to take the dreaded eye exam and will probably fail, so I'm guessing I might be getting glasses this year!

Daniel has a big appointment in April coming for his medical condition and if it turns out the way they expect, then we'll be released from the care of the urologist (finally!) and this Mama can finally relax!!

I can't wait to see how this year turns out! I'm sure we'll have plenty more to add to this list as the days go by, but just these things have me looking forward to what will come!!
