The Elmo Slippers

Happy (really belated) New Year to everyone. Things have been a bit crazy here lately and I haven't found the time to blog or spend very much time on the computer. We had a nice New Year's eve - I was in bed at 10:30 and Troy managed to wake me for the ball drop. Daniel was sound asleep. Welcome to parenthood in our house!

Since it's been getting colder we've noticed that even with socks on, Daniel's little feet get cold on our wood floors. So we made the trek to Wal-Mart and found a pair of Elmo slippers. He was really excited about them in the store, but I wasn't sure if he would really keep them on at the house. Daniel's been a big help with undressing himself lately and he LOVES to take his shoes and socks off at the most inopportune times (in the shopping cart etc.) I was hopeful the slippers would stay on in the house.

Well, not only do they stay on in the house, but they stay on during naptime and during the night. This is a feat not even the socks could manage!

So without further ado...the Elmo slippers...

P.S. I am going to be catching up on blogs soon, I haven't forgotten everyone out there!!!

Oh how cute! I wish our ds3 would keep his socks on at night. His little feet also get cold!

I know, I've been catching up on blogs lately too. What cute slippers! It sounded like you had a wonderful Christmas. We didn't do much for New Year's Eve either. Such is the life of a young family.

I should have sent you ours. Liam won't have anything to do with his Elmo slippers. I think the head sticking up freaks him out. I had to go back and buy him plain slippers for winter.

How adorable! Love those cute slippers for the little ones.
Hey...I don't even have any kids and was in bed by 10:30 on New Years Eve. I think I may be in trouble when I actually bring my child home....

The slippers are so cute. My one nephew was so in love with Elmo that I made him an Elmo suit for Halloween one year.

Cute story! I think I may borrow your idea. S takes his shoes/socks off everywhere, too! We may have to get some Elmo slippers! Daniel looks so cute in them. By the way, your New Year's Eve sounds like ours was. :)

Love it! Our guys had the Hot Wheels Car slippers. Seeing Daniel made me think of a funny memory about them.

Our boys only wore them in the house except when one day (several years ago) someone wanted to go to the donut store with dad and I couldn't find shoes. Well, that started a tradition of going to the donut store with Dad on Saturday mornings wearing PJs and the Hot Wheels slippers. It was required attire.

Even Liam has long since out grown them. But the other day we were going through clothes to donate to Goodwill. Guess what was in the pile? Liam said "Mom, look, it's the donut store slippers!"

Oh those are some cute slippers. My boys love slippers too and it is often an ordeal to get them off when we need to go out.

Too sweet. Don't you just love when our kids enjoy cartoon characters. There is something so sweet about them loving or befriending a cartoon character. Love the slippers!

Mari has a pair of Elmo slippers that were hand-me-downs. They are still several sizes too big but she's been wearing them since summer. It was her first experience with Elmo and she learned VERY quickly to say EL-MO. She still runs to get them and stumbles all over the house in them. By the time they fit, there may not be any red fur left on them.

Glad to hear Daniel's got good taste! I'll email you this week.
