Fun Times in the House

Wow - what a handful. Everything that isn't a toy should be. We are still working on a schedule and last night we had a mini breakthrough. He actually went to bed at 8, got up at 4 a.m. but went back to sleep until 7. Hallelujah!! Lately he's been getting up by 5 a.m. and not going back to sleep even when we tried putting him to bed at 9 p.m. Hopefully the new schedule will work and eventually he won't wake at 4 a.m.
His rash is clearing up!! So glad he is looking much better. We are doing a mix of the cream from the doc in the morning and then a hydrocortisone and Aveeno mosturizing lotion mix in the evening - thanks to Patti on that one!! It really works and the hydrocortizone gives him relief so he sleeps better at night.
All in all things are going well. We feel like he's already attached to us as he loves to be rocked. Lets us gives kisses by holding his cheek out to us when we ask and he now comes to us face forward to be held instead of backing up to us like he did on trip one and the beginning of trip two. I think we are very lucky but know we still have lots to work on!! He's a 22 month old mess, but he's our mess and we love him!!

Glad to hear his rash is clearing up. I'm a stickler to schedules & routines. My family has an ongoing joke, that we petty the teachers when there is a 2 hour delay next year...Bubby is a man of routine. Hang in there with bedtime; it'll come.

I just can't get over how adorable he is! Awesome photos today -- keep 'em coming!

Full nights of sleep will come eventually. I still don't think we have a full week that goes by without at least one child ending up in our bed for part of the night. We were real sticklers about routines with our first two, but with each child we got more relaxed. Now, I only wish I could be as organized with our schedule and routines. ;0)

It does get better as they get older and more secure in the new surroundings (for us it was new house that caused many sleepless nights.) This too, shall pass. I'm betting when he is a teenager you'll have to drag him out of bed!

Hi Rachel,
It seems like the lack of sleeping is common. I'm so glad to hear this because we were definitely concerned about this. He is always wanting to go-go-go and we just want him to take a break and relax.

Actually, I have Trey down for a nap right now and I'm not going to wake him....no matter how long he sleeps. Currently, he has a cold and really needs to rest....so I'll enjoy the quiet time to get a few things done as well.

Take Care!
